My wife and I moved from the Bay Area to Gilbert, Arizona in 2006 and have enjoyed everything Arizona has to offer! We have five children. Our three oldest children are pursuing their careers and the two youngest are in Chandler Unified School District.
I grew up military-dependent and experienced a lot of diversity. I started high school in Okinawa, Japan, and graduated from high school in Honolulu, Hawaii. I attended Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration.
I have held professional sales and sales leadership roles with global corporations in the supply chain services and manufacturing solutions markets. I also founded Arizona Closet Solutions in 2006 and experienced starting a small business.
I love checking out local coffee cafes (Luana's Coffee & Beer in Phoenix is my all-time favorite), getting to know a small business owners story, learning about the unique cultures and personal experiences of others, exploring the outdoors with my family, being a hockey dad, writing, giving back through volunteerism and cheering on the SF Giants and San Jose Sharks!
One of my passions has been to capture and write fiction and non-fiction thoughts from the many interesting people I have met. I can't say I am a professional writer as I am not published!
One project I have committed to complete during the COVID-19 pandemic is called "11 Codes of Pirates and Captains," which explores the question, "are you a Pirate or a Captain?" This has been a 20-year collection of memoirs, coffee shop discussions, and shared bantering with my good friend Steve Lorenz, who passed away a few years ago. By mid 2021 I hope to have the concept fully launched!
I am the current Treasurer for the Chandler School Boosters, Inc. (CSB), the governance non-profit entity for 160+ PTO's and Boosters, representing over $5M in annualized funds raised across the Chandler Unified School District.
